Picking Up Bargain Shirts

Picking up bargain shirts is something that we all love to do from time to time. First of all, a short apology for being away from this blog for a few months, but there just wasn't time for me and that's all I'm gonna say on the subject! My last post Affordable Designer Shirts, looked at designer brand shirts, so now I'm going to look at bargain shirts!

Whoa Edwyn, wait a goddam minute! You don't own a single cheap shirt so what in blazes are you going to talk about here?

Well, I said bargain shirts, not cheap! And yep, you won't find a single cheap shirt anywhere in my wardrobe and if anyone gives me one as a present, it gets used to clean the car with! I'm a stickler for good shirts and I'll always stick by that. But that doesn't mean I'm stupid enough to pass by a true bargain!

A true bargain is when you come across a good shirt that is being sold for less than its regular price. Now, I know that often, when you see a bargain shirt on sale, it can be a fake or knock off or whatever you want to call it, but sometimes there are true gems hiding in amongst the trash!

You just got to know how to spot them. Well, it ain't easy if you've been spending your whole life wearing cheap shirts, because you are not going be able to tell the difference. But as I've always worn good quality shirts, I can tell usually just by looking but sometimes I need to check the cloth by touch. That'll tell you a whole story on its own, like its quality and workmanship.

You'll see good stitching and good finishing on a real quality shirt,whereas a cheap one will have scruffy stitching, loose threads and poor finishing work. The material will feel quality or it'll feel cheap. I can't put that into any better words, as its just something you'll know when you feel two shirts together, one quality the other cheap.

I don't look for designer names, as that's no true guarantee that you have a genuine quality shirt. That's because the Chinese or whatever sweat shop that produced the knock off will have an authentic looking label to sew into the collar to fool the unwary. So you got to look at quality cloth, quality stitching and quality finishing like well sewn buttons and button holes, that kinda thing.

Affordable Designer Shirts

In my last post Shirts Online, I got things underway with this blog but now I want to write about some of the good shirts that are available to buy online.

I'm retired now, but I spent my whole working life as a businessman so I know the importance of wearing good quality shirts especially when I have to attend meetings or be in negotiations with people who I want to do business with.

Clothes make'th the man!

Every deal I've ever clinched has been helped enornmously by the fact that I looked and felt good because I was wearing clothes that cost more than most people make in a month. That's no brag, that's the truth of things.

You go up against some tough hard nose businessmen and you want to succeed, you gotta look good. In fact looking good is not enough. You gotta look like a million dollars.

When you look that good, you get the respect and credibility that will win you that next contract. Everything else follows, because when you look like a million dollars, you feel like a million dollars and you exude that air of wealth, abundance and confidence. The businessmen you're dealing with pick up on these qualities without knowing why, they just know you're a guy they want to do business with because you smell of success!

So getting yourself the best clothes for the job is a number one priority.

Where do you start? Well a good shirt is a good starting point. Don't waste your money buying a batch of cheap shirts at K-Mart or whatever, that is false economy. Cheap shirts look cheap. If you look cheap, people will think you're cheap and won't want to do business with you. Simple fact.

So what about the other side of wearing a good shirt? Like for pleasure and not business. Same rules apply my friends!

You go to a party, club, or take a nice girl out for a meal and you're wearing a cheap shirt, you'll look and feel cheap. On the other hand, you wear a good designer shirt that cost you an arm and a leg and you feel and look good!

Think that first date will go well if your new girl sees you are cheap? Think it will go a whole load better if she sees you have expensive tastes? Uh huh! Same goes for the girls. You dress to catch that man and you do it with the best outfit you can afford, right?

Right!

So here's the rub. You can't always afford to go out and spend a couple hundred bucks on a Lacoste dress shirt or a Burberry designer shirt or whatever. What is the alternative?

Well the good news is that you can buy good quality designer label shirts online at prices far less than what you'd spend in a store. Take an auction site like eBay for instance. There are always many hundreds of designer shirts on offer at great prices right in front of your nose all for the click of a mouse.

Shirts Online

Welcome to Lost My Shirt, my blog all about shirts!

I've put this blog together as I like shirts, I like wearing shirts and I like buying shirts! That last part is something I enjoy but generally I don't like wandering around a ton of stores so I started looking around online.

There are some good places to buy shirts online and lots of websites, but I've personally found that that they can get somewhat expensive especially when you add on the cost of shipping especially when they are based overseas.

Then I came across eBay.

Well, I wouldn't of ever thought of even looking at eBay for shirts because I always thought of them as a place to get used stuff cheap like collectors items and spare parts for stuff. But one day I was taking a look at eBay and found they have a section for clothes, so I browsed through and found thousands of shirts for sale - mostly new as well!

Now I'm hooked and I don't know how I have done without it for all this time! Its a really great place for finding just what you want. I got so caught up in this that I felt I had to tell more folks about it as I'm sure there are plenty people just like me who never knew about it.

So by way of spreading the word I got this code from eBay that lets me display their live list of shirts here on this blog. What a great way to get to know all about how to buy shirts online from this great, diverse selection!
